I used SONY digital camcorder's format function formatted memeory stick. Is there anyway I can recover them?

Please download the evaluation version of Davory and find out whether or not Davory can still find traces of your files.

and what if it cant find any traces of my files? i am at a total loss as to how to recover my photos. i have a sony cybershot and formatted over the wrong disc - is there ANYTHING i can do?

If "File Recovery by Type" cannot find the files any more, I'm afraid they are irreversibly lost. However, you may want to get a second opinion and send your memory stick (or whatever) to a company like ActionFront, Ibas, Vogon, or Ontrack.
