I noted that WinHex indicates the MFT number when I choose to go to file record from the explorer window. However, is there a way to navigate to a particular MFT number from the main menu after selecting a logical partition from disk tools? Thanks.

Not a convenient way yet, but a way: use Access | $Mft to get a list of the clusters used by the MFT. Then select one of the clusters in the list and press Page Down/Page Up while observing the MFT number in the details panel to approach the number you are looking for.
